This morning we did a super fun activity using our five senses! I gave each student a chart that had a section for each of their senses for them to record their observations, then I made them some microwave popcorn. This was great because they got to use all their senses and were able to work on one sense at a time. They started by listening to the kernels popping in the microwave, then when they started to smell the popcorn they could record their smell sense. We took our time using each sense and the kids seemed to really enjoy this activity. We tried working on using describing words instead of "it smells yummy" or "good".

Then after the kids enjoyed their popcorn, we created a whole class poem using their ideas from their charts. They came up with some great stuff and I thought our poem turned out awesome!
